Asset Variables Vs Expertise Variables

Asset Data Dictionary

Asset variables are variables that, as their name implies, define the assets created in your account. They allow the user to create assets with descriptive information about the product such as model, software, version, year of production, or even if the product contains any add-ons. The following image is a typical setup for asset data dictionaries.

These variables are defined during the asset creation process, as seen in the red box below. This is especially helpful for copilots that have various configurations. It allows for the copilots with various models, versions, or add-on components to be built into your account, thus enabling the GPT to correctly help the user with the specific asset that they own.

Expertise Data Dictionary

Variables that are used only in your tasks are stored in the expertise data dictionary. The expertise data dictionary has the same appearance as the asset data dictionary, but these variables pertain to feedback and dependencies in steps and tasks. Below is a typical data dictionary you will see set up.

As stated previously, expertise variables can be created under configuration or directly in a step/task; however, it is highly recommended to add/edit your expertise variables in the data dictionary. InSkill recommends always preparing your data dictionary before creating your task. This allows for a cleaner dictionary with minimal discrepancies between the variables found in the data dictionary vs. tasks.

Variables will also be organized by where they originally exist. At the top, variables from the product's expertise will be listed. Below the product's expertise variables, you will see the expertise variables created in any of the product's components.
