Sharing Expertise with Customers
How sharing works: suppliers share copilots and assets with customer accounts, what gets shared, and how shared expertise stays current.
Sharing gives a customer account access to a supplier's copilots and assets, so the people who maintain the equipment work from the manufacturer's current expertise. The supplier shares, and the customer receives.
| Side | Who | Where they work |
|---|---|---|
| Supplier | The original equipment manufacturer (OEM) that creates the expertise and shares the copilots. | The Customers tab of the Admin portal. See Customers. |
| Customer | The factory or site that operates the equipment and uses the copilots for daily production and maintenance. | The Suppliers tab of the Admin portal. See Suppliers. |
How Sharing Works
- The supplier adds the customer on the Customers tab and chooses the asset groups and copilots to share. A customer cannot add a supplier until the supplier has registered them this way.
- The supplier gives the customer their Access Code.
- The customer enters the access code on their own Suppliers tab.
- The shared copilots appear in the customer's Copilots portal, and the shared assets in their Assets portal.
What Gets Shared
| Item | How it is shared |
|---|---|
| Asset groups | Sharing an asset group shares its assets and automatically includes the copilots they need, so customers see only guidance for the machines they own. See Groups. |
| Copilots | Copilots selected under Copilot Access on the customer, for broader machine families or product lines. |
| Components | Shared automatically with any shared copilot that depends on them. See Components. |
| Access level | The role assigned to the customer sets the level of access they receive. See Roles. |
| Re-sharing | With Sharable set on the customer, they can share the copilots they receive with their own customers. |
Keeping Shared Expertise Current
Shared content syncs to the customer automatically every night. On the customer's Suppliers list, Refresh pulls the latest updates immediately. See The Suppliers List.
Usage Shared with the Supplier
A customer can share their usage of a supplier's published copilots with that supplier by turning on Share GPT for the supplier on their Suppliers list. The usage is anonymized: user identities aren't shared. See The Suppliers List.
Sharing and Publishing
Sharing is separate from publishing. Published is a status that makes a copilot live; set it in Copilot Settings. A customer's Copilot Access list shows the published copilots they receive; selected copilots that are unpublished appear only in edit mode. See Customers.
