Your First Copilot

Take a new account from nothing to a working copilot: create it, add its manuals, ask it a question, and invite the Technicians who will use it.

This page takes a new account from nothing to a copilot Technicians can use: create the copilot, give it its manuals, check its answers, and invite your team. Each step links to the page with the full detail.

Before you start, have the machine's manuals as PDF files and, if you have one, a picture or logo for the copilot.

Follow these four steps in order:

  1. Create the Copilot
  2. Add Its Manuals
  3. Ask It a Question
  4. Invite Your Team

Create the Copilot

In the Copilots portal, click + Add New in the top-right corner. Give the copilot a Name, usually the name of the machine, and a Copilot Logo (256 x 256 pixels is recommended), then click Save. See Add New Copilot.

Add Its Manuals

Open the copilot's Resources tab and click Bulk Upload. Add the PDF files, leave Published on, and click the Create Resources button (it shows the number of files), then Done. InSkill GPT uses the documents in its answers.

See Resources and Adding Documents. For the file types InSkill accepts, see Supported Resource Formats.

Ask It a Question

Open the Ask portal from the portal switcher in the top-left corner, open your copilot, and click Start. Ask a question you already know the answer to, and check the answer against the manual. If an answer is wrong, rate it down and add a comment saying where the right information is. See Asking a Question and Evaluating Responses.

Invite Your Team

In the Admin portal, open the Team tab and click + Add New. Choose a Role, enter the user's email address and name, and click Add User. Each user receives an invitation; users with InSkill app access also receive the QR code that joins the app to the account. See Adding and Modifying Users and Authorizing the InSkill App.

Make sure the copilot is Visible and its Status is Published, so Technicians can see it. See Copilot Settings.
