Parts Card

A complete Parts Card for AM-650 hoist system spares, what each of its sections captures, and how to build one from a stores review with the InSkill Field Card Creator skill.

A Parts Card lists the critical spares for one assembly: each part with its number, its substitute or supersession, the minimum stock the site keeps, and where it is kept. It answers the questions that stop a repair: "What's the part number?", "Can I fit the old one?" and "Do we have one?" For how Parts Cards fit with the other card types, see Field Cards.

This page shows a complete Parts Card, explains what each section captures, and then shows how to create one with the InSkill Field Card Creator skill.

What Each Section Covers

A Parts Card is built around one table. Part numbers come from the maker; minimum stock and bins come from the site, so they are tagged as field values.

SectionWhat it capturesIn this example
Header and summary boxThe customer logo, card type, card ID and chips. Use when a Technician asks lists the parts questions the card answers.Parts card; "Part number for the hoist pump", "Is an EHL in stock?", "Can I fit the old EHL 650-4215-00?".
1 AssemblyWhat the assembly is, where its main parts sit, and where the site values come from. A Before you start box warns about parts that differ by model year.Hoist pump, valve, EHL, cylinders and tank; minimum stock agreed with the planner on 2026-07-24; 2024 and 2025 pumps are not interchangeable.
2 PartsThe core expertise: every critical spare grouped by system, with Ref (its balloon in the exploded view), part, part number, quantity on the machine, substitute or supersession, minimum stock and where it is kept.Eighteen parts in three groups, from hoist pump 650-4305-00 in rack R-1 (zero stock, 6-week lead time) to the prop pin clip in bin H-07.
3 FiguresAn exploded view with numbered balloons that match the Ref column, and pictures of parts that are hard to name. The hoist system exploded view, the tank-top filters, and the prop pin bracket and clip.
4 Field notesStores and shop events: reviews, issues, stock-outs, supersessions found on the shelf.Pump issued and reordered; old EHL levers tagged for older trucks; EHL boot stock-out.
5 To be confirmedGaps: parts with no minimum stock yet, missing lead times, model years not covered.Minimum stock not set for the valve, cylinders and pins; MY2022 trucks need the 2022 parts manual.
Legend, keywords and sourcesValue tags, keywords and sources. Keywords include the part numbers, "min stock", "bin location" and "supersession".

Example Questions

These questions were asked in Ask on Copilot (Truck) with the card uploaded, and InSkill GPT answered them correctly. Use them to check the card after you upload it.

Ask thisA good answer covers
"Can I fit an old 650-4215-00 hoist lever?"Use 650-4215-01: it supersedes 650-4215-00, which was fitted up to serial AZ65024-0240, and it fits both.
"Where are the hydraulic return filters kept in the store, and what is the minimum stock?"Bin H-12, minimum stock 6. The element is 650-4310-00, fitted with new cover O-rings 650-4311-00.
"Can I use the MY2024 tandem pump 650-4100-00 as the hoist pump on a MY2025 AM-650?"No. The 2025 hoist pump is 650-4305-00, and the two pumps aren't interchangeable.

How to Create a Parts Card

Parts Cards are created in Claude with the InSkill Field Card Creator skill. It takes part numbers, quantities and supersessions from the maker's parts manual, and minimum stock and store locations from the site's records.

Follow these five stages in order:

  1. Gather the source data
  2. Run the skill
  3. Review the card
  4. Upload to InSkill
  5. Test the card in Ask

Gather the source data

Collect the site's stores records for the assembly: a stock review or min-max list, bin locations, and records of parts issued, superseded or out of stock. Add the maker's parts list and supersession table.

The source for this example is the stores review recorded on 2026-07-24, laid out as the planner keeps it:

PartPart numberMin stockBin
Return filter element650-4310-006H-12
Brake cooling filter650-3310-004H-13
Breather650-4330-002H-14
EHL650-4215-011E-03
EHL boot650-4216-002E-03
ML seal kit650-4205-K11H-07
Hoist pressure sensor650-4245-001E-05
Body-down sensor650-4230-001E-05
Raise hose650-4251-002HX-2
Prop pin clip650-4189-001H-07
Hoist relief cartridge650-4220-001H-07
Hoist pump650-4305-001Rack R-1

The skill gives the review the source ID E0011. Later stores and shop events came from the typed field log:

id,date,shift,unit,tech,area,entry
E0020,2026-08-17,Day,B43558,AL,Hydraulic,"Raise hose 650-4251-00 weeping at the right cylinder. Hoist relief checked at TP-2: 2,700 psi. Relief cartridge had been turned in with no record. Reset to 2,500 psi, about 3/4 turn out. Replaced hose. Supervisor stand-down: no relief adjustment without supervisor sign-off."
E0026,2026-08-28,Day,Stores,KP,Parts,"Two old EHL 650-4215-00 found on the shelf. Planner confirmed from the parts manual that 650-4215-01 fits both; -00 used up to serial AZ65024-0240. Old levers tagged for older trucks only."
E0030,2026-09-09,Day,Stores,KP,Parts,"Hoist pump 650-4305-00 issued to B43558 (E0029). Stock now zero. Reorder raised; AMW Parts quoted 6 weeks."
E0035,2026-09-24,Day,Stores,KP,Parts,"EHL boot 650-4216-00 out of stock after E0025. Ordered 2."

The manual used was the AMW-MP-650-25 Maintenance and Parts Manual (hoist system parts, page 57; filters, page 51; superseded parts and 2024 to 2025 changes, pages 49 and 50).

Run the skill

In Claude, attach the stores review, the field log, the parts manual and the customer logo, and use a prompt like this:

Use the InSkill Field Card Creator skill.

Create a parts card for the critical spares of the hoist system on the AMW AM-650
haul truck, 2025 model year.
- Copilot: Copilot (Truck)
- Site: AZ Copper Works (prefix ACW)
- Source: the attached stores review and field log, July to September 2026
- Take part numbers, quantities and supersessions from the attached AMW-MP-650-25
manual and cite the page; take minimum stock and bins from the stores review
- Number the parts to match an exploded view of the assembly
- Header: the attached AZ Machine Works logo

Review the card

Before you upload the card, check:

  • Every page reads cleanly, no heading is stranded at the bottom of a page, and the card ID fits the header.
  • Every field value appears in the source records, and every source ID on the card exists.
  • Every value taken from the manual cites its page.
  • The To be confirmed list names every gap, and who should close it.
  • The settings file has InSkill GPT Answers, App and Web all on.
  • No part number appears that isn't in the parts manual or the site's records.

Upload to InSkill

Field cards are uploaded with InSkill GPT Answers, App and Web all on. With App and Web off, InSkill GPT still uses a card, but doesn't show it as a resource in the answer.

  1. Open the copilot, here Copilot (Truck), and open its Resources tab.
  2. Click Bulk Upload and add the PDF.
  3. Under Configure defaults for uploaded files, leave Published on. Under Visibility, leave App, Web and InSkill GPT Answers selected. Under InSkill GPT, leave Searchable and Parse selected.
  4. Click Create 1 Resources, then Done.
  5. Open the new resource and set Name, Keywords and Description from the settings file. Leave Prompt empty. Click Save. See Editing Resource Attributes.
📘

Note

Claude can do step 5 for you through the InSkill MCP Server: ask it to apply the .inskill.json settings file to the uploaded resource.

In this example the resource name is Field Card (Parts) | Hoist system critical spares.

Test the card in Ask

Ask the example questions in Ask on the copilot and check the answers against the card.

Files

The skill writes two files for each card:

FileWhat it is
ACW-AZMachineWorks-AM650-Truck-R-001-EN.pdfThe card: a branded, US Letter PDF. This is the file you upload to InSkill.
ACW-AZMachineWorks-AM650-Truck-R-001-EN.inskill.jsonThe settings file: the resource name, keywords, description and visibility to apply in InSkill.

The skill writes the card in English, even when the source records are in another language. It writes another language version, for example ACW-AZMachineWorks-AM650-Truck-R-001-ES.pdf, only when you ask for one. On request, it also delivers a kit with the template, builder, content files and images, so the card can be rebuilt after edits.

Card ID

Every card ID follows the pattern <Site>-<Brand>-<Model>-<MachineType>-<Code>-<Number>, and each language version adds a suffix:

PartIn this exampleMeaning
SiteACWAZ Copper Works, the site the records come from
BrandAZMachineWorksThe machine maker. Process is used when the maker can't be confirmed from the sources.
ModelAM650The machine model. Left out when it doesn't apply.
Machine typeTruckThe machine type
CodeRParts card
Number001The card number for this site, maker, model, machine type and code
Language-ENAdded to the file names. English is the base language.

Value tags

Every value on the card is tagged so Technicians and InSkill GPT know how far to trust it:

TagHow it looks on the cardWhat it means
Field valueGrey value in a dashed boxTaken from the source records. Not yet confirmed by the maker.
Verified valueWhite value on solid blueTaken from the maker's manual, or confirmed by the maker.
To confirmAmber labelAdded by the author, not found in the sources. Validate it before anyone relies on it.

Status, version and review

ItemIn this exampleRule
StatusField-derivedA new card is always Field-derived. It becomes OEM verified once the maker confirms its values and the To be confirmed list is closed.
Version0.1The first version is 0.1.
Review date2027-01-29No more than 90 days after the card is made.
OwnerTo be assignedThe person who keeps the card current.
